Start-Stop Patterns

Hello Friends,

When we feel stuck, it is often because we are feeding competing intentions. It’s like getting into your car to go somewhere and you have one foot on the gas and one foot on the brake. You want to move forward, yet nothing is happening.

The following exercise may help you illuminate where you are in a start-stop pattern in your life.

On a piece of paper, write out the following questions and your answers.

1. What are 3-5 goals/intentions/desires in your life that you want to move forward with?

2. What is stopping you from moving forward?

Belief systems based on fear, excuses and justifications may sound like, “I don’t feel confident,” “I’m not good enough”, “this isn’t good timing”, “this is scary”, “I’m not ready”, “I’m too busy” and so forth. Whatever belief is stopping you, is where you have your foot on the brake.

When we bring awareness to our start-stop pattern, we can then acknowledge and release the thoughts that hold us back so that we may leap forward.

Hope this helps to clarify any confusion you may have on why you have struggled to reach your goals.

Warm Wishes,

Stephanie
