Truth or Lies

Hello Friends,

There is a way of learning what is right for us, and what is not for us, that does not require our mind to “figure it out.”

One of the lesser known, but very important functions of our bodies is to communicate what is true for us and what is not.

Something that is true for you will make you feel lighter. Something that is not true for you will make you feel heavier.

This may sound “too simple” and “too easy” because it contradicts the understanding that we are to “figure it out” in our heads. Most of us are not taught to gain awareness and trust that our bodies know the answer.

At times we all seek out other people’s perspectives to help us with our decision-making process. Although their viewpoints are true to them, it is important that we check in with our own bodies to see what is true for us.

For example, you are struggling with making a decision about purchasing a big-ticket item. You seek out advice from a friend who tells you, “No way, that is too big of a financial commitment.”

Yikes, your mind is now in overdrive as you question your sanity in purchasing this big-ticket item. Does your friend know something you don’t? You wonder as self-doubt creeps in.

Tah-dah! This is when you ask yourself, “Truth, is purchasing this big-ticket item going to create greater for me?” If you feel lighter then you can expect the experience to be light and right for you. If you have a sense of heaviness, which would indicate a no, and choose to purchase this big-ticket item anyway, you can expect the purchasing experience to be heavy.

Back to your friend for a moment, what you didn’t recognize at the time was that your friend is stuck in her own fears and is projecting that onto you, rather than asking you questions about your potential investment and what it could create in your life. Please remember that friends and family are trying to keep us safe, which can limit our ability to create greater for ourselves.

I invite and encourage you to ask other’s for their input if that is useful in your decision making process. AND, I fully empower, encourage, and strongly suggest that your final answer comes from the communion between you and your body.

This may be a new learning tool for you to communicate with your body. Please have patience with yourself as you gain greater awareness of what lightness and heaviness feel like in your body.

Have fun in the learning of what is true for you!

Stephanie
