What Are You Trying to Prove?

Stop and ask yourself this question … Who in your life are you trying to “prove” yourself to?

Maybe it’s your family? Your friends? Your boss or co-workers?  Or maybe it’s just yourself?

And, what exactly are you trying to prove?

Are you trying to prove that you’re a great person? A good friend? A hard worker? Successful? Are you desperately trying to prove that your life is awesome despite your feelings of stress and sadness?

Why do we put such pressure on ourselves?

After all, we were all babies once, and we don’t judge a baby. We accept and acknowledge a baby as a perfect beautiful human being.

What if we each looked at ourselves in the mirror — and I mean really look into our eyes — and state out loud, “I Am Enough!”  Repeat this a few times. And, what if you added an extra phrase, such as, “I am a good enough parent.”  Or maybe, “I am a good enough partner.” I encourage you to go to your mirror and claim, “I AM ENOUGH”.  Then take it one step further and say “I AM MORE THAN ENOUGH.”

How much more peaceful and satisfied would we feel if we accepted that we are enough — exactly as we are — in this moment?

Imagine, no more striving to be a better person, to be more successful, to have more stuff. There is nothing different to do, achieve, change, or to be at this very moment. You are enough!
